Volunteer Opportunities

2022 Volunteer Opportunities

We've got several volunteer opportunities coming up early fall.

  • September 17 - Our annual Climate & Clean Energy Expo. We're bringing this great event back for a 4th year and need volunteers to help with everything from setup to kids activities to the EV bike & car show and more.

  • September 29 - A morning of restoration and tree planting with Trees for Missoula, United Way of Missoula County, and Parks & Recreation. 9 am - 11 am at our Shade Shelter along the Bitterroot Spur trail.

As you can see (phot, right) it's time for some light weeding and replanting.  And we have ~10 trees to plant here and nearby.

If you'd like to join us, email Amy.

River City Roots Festival 2022

A HUGE THANKS to all the fantastic volunteers who made this year's River City Roots Festival greening efforts a success!

Green Team volunteers help help monitor and maintain Zero Waste stations (recycling, compost, and trash receptacles) at the event, run the bike valet, and more.

Why volunteer? Here are FIVE great reasons:
  1. Volunteers get a free (green) T-shirt, a drink cup and free drink(s) and snacks
  2. All food vendors must use compostable products (dinnerware, silverware, etc..) and compost and recycling service is what we make happen.
  3. There'll be stainless steel reusable cups available and NO STRAWS.
  4. Folks that ride bikes can use the cool (and free) bike valet.
  5. The music is always amazing, this is a great community event, and it's free because, well, volunteers!

Oh, and did we mention it is fun?!

Anytime:

Share your Climate Story as part of our ongoing community climate stories project, launched Earth Day 2022.

Want to plant a tree on your property?

Check out the City of Missoula's recommended trees and shrubs for this community, which includes tips for planting and watering, and a list of certified arborists.
