2022 Volunteer Opportunities
We'll be sure to share any volunteer opportunities we know of here - check back soon!

River City Roots Festival, August 27-28, 2021
We are once again helping coordinate volunteers for Missoula's annual River City Roots Festival coming up on Aug 27-28 - and we need your help!
Green Team volunteers help help monitor and maintain Zero Waste stations (recycling, compost, and trash receptacles) at the event, run the bike valet, and more.
Why volunteer? Here are FIVE great reasons:
Oh, and did we mention it is fun?! We will aim to be covid-safe too - the event is entirely outdoors but masks are welcome and encouraged when distancing is not possible.
TO SIGN UP: Check out available shifts HERE - just scroll down and select available Green Team slots. (If you're new to Signup Genius, you'll be prompted to create an account - it's easy.)
Please invite friends, family, or colleagues too. And THANK YOU for helping keep this iconic Missoula event clean, green and sustainable!

Why volunteer? Here are FIVE great reasons:
- Volunteers get a free (green) T-shirt, a drink cup and free drink(s) and snacks
- All food vendors must use compostable products (dinnerware, silverware, etc..) and compost and recycling service is what we make happen.
- There'll be stainless steel reusable cups available and NO STRAWS.
- Folks that ride bikes can use the cool (and free) bike valet.
- The music is always amazing, this is a great community event, and it's free because, well, volunteers!

Thanks to all the lovely Missoulians who took to the hills and collected ~13 lbs of arrowleaf balsamroot (ABR) seeds in for restoration work on Missoula's conservation lands!
We hope to do it again next year depending on the needs of Missoula Parks and Recreation so look out for future opportunities.

We are working to develop safe, socially distant volunteer opportunities during COVID-19. In the meantime, we encourage you to check out our advocacy page or play bingo, which has fun activities for the climate activist during COVID-19.
