100% Clean Electricity for Missoula

Missoula is committed to 100% Clean Electricity by 2030!

The Missoula City Council Committee of the Whole and Missoula County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) both passed unanimously a joint resolution in support of 100% Clean Electricity on April 3, 2019. Check out this Missoula Current article.  And on April 8 the full City Council held a final vote to adopt the resolution!

The Final Resolution is HERE.

Climate Smart worked with an Ad Hoc group to help draft and support this resolution. Thanks 350 Montana, Sierra Club, Environment Montana and more. Over 400 individuals and 45 businesses and organizations signed on to the 100% Clean Electricity open letter of support.

The resolution is linked to our 100% Clean Electricity Options Report, which describes, you guessed it, options for our our community can reach this goal. We'd love for you to read the full report, below!

June 2020 update:
The City and County formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NorthWestern Energy, committing the three entities to working together towards our community's 100% goal. This is just a first step, and only part of what it will take to reach 100% - but important nonetheless. Read more about the MOU and share your ideas for implementation via the new Engage Missoula site.
