Fall 2020 Climate and Sustainability
Happenings

Although we're not hosting our annual Clean Energy Expo this fall due to COVID, there are still many ways to take action locally on climate and sustainability! Check out these great fall events and opportunities, spread the word, and let us know if we've missed anything that should be included! We'll continue to add events and update details, so check back frequently.
Fall 2020 Local Climate and Sustainability Happenings & Volunteer Opportunities
  • September 13-26: Missoula in Motion's Commuter Challenge. Create or join your workplace team and log your sustainable trips to win prizes. Yes, working from home counts!
  • September 21-26: MUD Garden Project Week. This year, MUD's annual fall harvest celebration is going virtual, with a week of events to demonstrate, inspire, and engage with sustainability projects at home. Lots more details about this great community series at mudproject.org.
  • September 24, 26, 29th, Oct 1 & Oct 17: Rattlesnake dam restoration work days! See detailed flyer to the right. Morning and afternoon shifts available on each day; sign up easily online here:  https://volunteersignup.org/QB8XM
  • September 25-26: Faith, Science and Climate Action Conference: "Cultivating Soil, Soul & Health." Via Zoom. Sponsored by Montana Interfaith Power and Light. All are welcome to join.
  • September 25th - Families Unite for our Future. 5 - 6pm, Caras Park. Join Families for a Livable Climate to stand in solidarity with families across the country who are suffering the devastating effects of wildfire and hurricanes, and in solidarity with the Fridays for Future Global Day of Action. Tell the world why and how we are committed to preserving a livable climate by taking a pledge at the event, and recording a message about your commitment if you would like. Please wear a mask, respect social distance. More details here.
  • October 1: Decarbonizing Transportation: Bikes, EVs, Buses and Trains. A virtual happy hour panel hosted by Families for a Livable Climate.
  • October 7-9: Montana Nature Week, hosted by Montana Natural History Center.
