Climate Solutions Week

Missoula's 2nd Annual Climate Solutions Week was Sept. 28 - October 6, 2024!

Over 1100 Missoulians joined us at 15+ positive-impact climate events during the week, hosted by us and partner organizations and businesses. Miss the events and curious what it was all about? Visit with solar installers, climate & sustainability organizations and businesses, check out our electric car and bike show and more!

ALSO happening Saturday 9/28 -- the Maclean Literary Festival at the Wilma (free).  Finding Our Place in Nature: the power of story,  with a climate change theme.  Saturday evening is the Black Ram Guitar Festival featuring James McMurtry, Bill McKibben, Rick Bass, and friends.  Can the forests of NW Montana be a climate refuge, and what does a guitar have to do with this?  Come find out ($20).

  • 6PM - 7PM - Solar + Agriculture: Join Farm Connect Montana (formerly known as CFAC) for a workshop focused on harnessing the sun to power farms. Details.

  • 8:30AM - 10AM - Electrify 101: Join Climate Smart Missoula & local experts over coffee and pastries to learn the what, why, and how of getting off fossil fuels in our homes and buildings and switching to electric systems powered by renewable energy. 45 minute program plus time for Q&A. Coffee and snacks provided! Details.

  • 12PM - 1PM - Protecting Pollinators + Native Plants: This lunch-and-learn with Montana Natural History Center offers a film screening and seed-bomb workshop. Details.
 
  • 6PM - 7:30PM - Coping with Climate Change: This panel discussion will explore caring for mental health in light of climate change. Details.

  • 9:15AM- 10:15AM - Climate Conversations Workshop: Talking about climate change is one of the most powerful tools we have. Improve your skills with Families for a Livable Climate. Details.

  • 7PM - 10PM - Sustainable Fashion Show & After Party: Address the climate crisis in style and learn how smart fashion choices can have a positive climate impact. Hosted by Funk It Coffee and Thrift and partners. Details.

Saturday, October 5

  • 1PM - 2:30 PM - Green Tour at Rocky Mountain Gardens: The tour will feature climate resilient plants in the gardens, a bioswale project, and the living roof. Adults and kids welcome! Details.

Climate Ride

Sunday, October 6 | 9 AM | Free Cycles
Conclude the week with a community bike ride to support local climate action!

There are route options from beginner to advanced, plus a family-friend Climate Protector Ride. Free to participate.
