Save the Date: Held v Montana Trial

Montana Youth are Making Climate Justice History!

This June, the eyes of the world will be on Montana as 16 young climate leaders bring the first ever constitutional climate trial, and first ever children’s climate trial, in U.S. history to the First Judicial District Court in Helena.

🌎🌎🌎 Climate Smart Missoula stands in solidarity with these young Montanans! 🌎🌎🌎

Join us in supporting the Held v. State of Montana youth plaintiffs as they seek to protect their constitutional right to a safe climate in Montana’s courts this June:
  • SAVE THE DATES: The trial will be from June 12-23, 2023 in Helena! The Climate Smart Team will be organizing a carpool to Helena to support the youth in person on Monday,  June 19. Email Abby if you're interested in being part of this organized effort.
  • SPREAD THE WORD: Share our posts on social media to spread the word about this groundbreaking youth-led climate case. Urge everyone you know to SAVE THE DATES for this historic trial - especially if they live in or near Helena and can attend the trial in-person!
  • STAY TUNED: Follow Our Children’s Trust on social media at @youthvgov and join their online mailing list at youthvgov.org/join to stay up-to-date on trial developments, activities, and events, including how YOU can take action to support these young plaintiffs in-person and online!

Electrify Homes Spring Tour
Our first-ever Electrify Homes in-person tour (and self-guided version) was a huge success! Thanks to all who joined us to learn from neighbors working on home electrification projects on the Northside and Westside this spring. It was awesome to have front-page coverage in the Missoulian: Climate Smart Missoula shows off cool building techniques.

Miss the tour? It's never too late to get inspired! Check out the stories on our Electrify Missoula website.

A bevvy of new funding opportunities via the Inflation Reduction Act - the first real and transformative climate legislation ever passed by Congress - are available now, with more rebates to come later this year or early 2024.

Learn more about this important bill's provisions via our IRA info page and bookmark ElectrifyMissoula.org as we continue to update it with financing resources and information to support your electrification journey.
