A Creative Response to Climate Change
At Climate Smart Missoula, we seek to deepen the connection between climate, art, and humanities in our community.
“Art, like religion, is one of the ways we digest what is happening to us, and make the
sense out of it that proceeds to action.” –Bill McKibben

Open Air Art Show: Adaptation and Resiliency
|
Twelve teams created paintings on large freestanding panels made out of re-purposed, hollow-core doors from Home ReSource. The project and show are intended to inspire a community conversation on what climate resilience and adaptation means for Missoula, as well as to engage students, scientists, artists, and policy makers across campus and the community. Many of the teams are multi-generational and involve k-12 and/or university students as well as other community members.
THANKS TO FIRST INTERSTATE BANK, SHERMAN WILLIAMS, BOYCE LUMBER, ACE HARDWARE, and most importantly HOME RESOURCE for providing the materials, paint, and funding to help make this art show come to life. We appreciate YOU. The Art Show appeared at the following 2016 events:
