Missoula's Community Climate Smart Action Plan
Our Community Climate Smart Action Plan v1.0 was released in July 2015. Essentially a blueprint for addressing climate change, it represents a huge step forward for our community! Climate Smart Missoula is now a little over two years old, and we've continued to grow and evolve. With input from our Executive and Leadership teams, we have done some rearranging of our “buckets”. We think this will help us work more effectively to achieve our goals in the months and years to come. In the meantime, the infographic below has the latest update.
What are the Buckets?
Over the course of a few years, two summits and many conversations and meetings, Missoula's leaders and innovators came together to develop climate strategies and priorities for our community. These have coalesced into 9 different focal areas, or "Buckets," that are critical to Missoula's climate mitigation and resiliency efforts. In the center - at the heart of what we do - is education and outreach, and our work is informed by our community emissions inventory and metrics to measure progress.
We will keep these buckets updated with new ideas and opportunities - if you have anything to add, pop us a note or call 926-2847.
These two are not really "Buckets" but are integral to what we do:
